Spectrum Brands Global Pet Supplies
When a F4 tornado ripped through Earth City Missouri in 2013 on a Friday, many industrial buildings and residential neighborhoods were severely damaged, some completely lost. One of the most affected businesses was Spectrum Brands, a pet food supplier and manufacturer. One of the structure’s major supporting walls fully collapsed as well as the 150,000 square foot roof being significantly damaged. Fortunately no employees were hurt during the storm but the business faced an immense challenge of finding quality contractors to begin the restoration project as soon as possible, otherwise their business would suffer a tremendous loss of revenue.
Spectrum Brand ownership contacted ARCO Construction the night of the storm and engaged ARCO to restore the property to pre-storm condition. ARCO and All Trades Restoration Services have worked closely before on previous projects. ARCO contracted with ATRS to secure the damaged flat roof and clear all the storm debris. Once this work was done ATRS was to immediately install a temporary roof system meant to keep the business dry for as long as six months, allowing for the general restoration process to begin and for Spectrum Brands to return to full capacity production.
Approximately 72 hours after the tornado hit, ATRS was on the roof clearing debris. Our crews worked around the clock, 24 hours a day for 10 days and secured the roof and installed the temporary roof system. The temporary system kept the property completely dry for 8 months, allowing ARCO Construction to return the structural damage and interior damage to better than pre-storm condition!
